Buckeye Field is a picturesque playing surface that is the pride of Lafayette Little League. However, what makes it truly special is the community it fosters. The league's volunteers - 25 board members, 50 managers, and 100 coaches - work tirelessly to teach children about integrity, resiliency, courage, determination, and teamwork.
Even the league's 700+ families contribute with volunteer jobs. Lafayette Little League is run 100% by volunteers. Umpires teach respect while overseeing games, and sponsors provide crucial financial support. The league is a community where parents and children forge new friendships while spending time together, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
Lafayette Little League hopes that all families will cherish the special memories created during the baseball season and that the players of today will bring their own children back to Buckeye to play catch on the same dirt and grass where they played. The venue is not just about the game but about creating a foundation of character and values that children will need to succeed as young adults.

Bats and helmets with appropriate face guards are to be provided by parents for each player, along with an appropriate baseball glove (mitt) and non-metal cleats. The league will furnish a jersey, pants, socks, hat and a belt (belts are not used in Instructional).
All bats must have USA designation and ALL batting helmets must have a FULL FACE GUARD
Lafayette Little League sadly lost a strong supporter of its Challenger program with the recent passing of Challenger parent Diane Hong. The mother of a current Challenger player, Diane's family has been involved with the program for several years. Diane always helped at practice with calm patience, a positive spirit, and a warm smile. She will be greatly missed by the Challenger program and the entire Lafayette Little League Community.
Friends have established a GoFundMe account for the family's children,

The Special Education Enrichment Development Foundation of Lafayette named Lafayette Little League its 2019 Community Award recipient in recognition of LLL's Challenger Baseball Program.
Thank you to SEED, Rosemary Kirbach, Steve Parlett, and Skip Tague for all of their work to make the Challenger program the pride of Lafayette Little League.

In the event rain starts during a game, play may continue provided player safety is not compromised. If, in the opinion of the UMPIRE or a duly appointed League Official, player safety is affected and/or the field will be damaged should play continue, the UMPIRE or duly appointed League official has the authority and responsibility to stop the game. The website will be updated by the league with information regarding field status, usually by 2PM on game day or sooner if possible, and/or should conditions change. Please note that school fields are not in use by LLL for the summer and fall.
